  • PhyzokTM

" You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives. "

Present day education lacks depth, purpose and meaning. In the absence of substantial hands-on experience and thorough use of individual and collective mental capability, students resort to memory instead of analysis. Information cannot replace education.

PhyzokTM, a new and innovative venture by CDS Solutions, introduces and nurtures Analytical Thought Process in young brains. The 7-hour journey brings to a child, varied real-life concepts letting him explore, experience and learn by involving himself at every stage.

PhyzokTM, a brain-child of alumini from IIT, BITS-Pilani and IIM, is incubated under Technology Business Incubator by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, at BITS-Pilani.

    PhyzokTM workshops are

    • live and interactive
    • filled with real-life simulations (PhyzokTM Lab)
    • backed by audio/visual and technology aids
    • supplemented with concept demonstrations and group activities
    • closely linked to course curriculum.
  • Analytical Thought Process

Analytical Thought Process encompasses the entire process of obtaining a question, comprehending, analyzing, evaluating, internalizing and acting up on the knowledge to come up with a solution

Analytical thinking is essential to both effective learning and productive living. We are in an era where information is plentiful and knowledge is not mere collection of facts but the ability to understand and evaluate the ideas in a constructive manner.

    Analytical thought process

    • kindles scientific inquiry and advocates evidence based learning - a student learns by involving himself rather than being instructed to think in a particular way.
    • encourages questioning, imagination and thinking out of the box
    • provides a framework to probe deeper, engage and challenge oneself.
    • promotes intellectual acumen.
    • improves problem solving and decision making skills.
    • motivates students to think beyond the boundaries of textbooks and innovate.
  • Benefits

Everything under this universe portrays diverse connotations to different individuals. A boulder is a mere stone to few, to a sculptor it is a beautiful statue. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder !
Upon deep observation one can realize that the answer lies in the distinct quality of an individual - the power of imagination; the power to visualize, attribute varied meanings and look beyond the boundaries.

An intelligent individual approaches every problem in a structured manner, with concrete ideas and sincere devotion. He analyzes and reaches conclusions. He delivers performance. Many have the ability to perform, the intelligence to charm and the drive to deliver. But they lack the structure and the thought-process to innovate and make a path of their own.

Our education system is based on quantity rather than on quality. Unless a child learns to act and think on his or her own, no dreams can be achieved. A progress-card oriented society is the bane of our future-generation's progress.

PhyzokTM provides hands-on learning and inquiry-based learning. It engages students in in-depth investigations with concepts, related puzzling phenomena and ideas, drawing meaning and understanding from those experiences. This is done through simple activities and concept demonstrations (PhyzokTM Lab) based on scientific principles which closely simulate real-life scenarios that give enough scope for innovation and challenge and make learning science fun and exciting.

Unless you do, you don't learn. You can't learn to ride a bicycle if you stay in a simulation. You can't learn to play a square-drive by watching Sachin play. You have to be pushed into the sea of reality. Students are no longer spectators in their own-learning process.

By approaching the same concept through different ideas and methods, PhyzokTM enables students to explore, experience, challenge their intellect, hone their thought process and complete their education.

  • Typical PhyzokTM day

In a PhyzokTM workshop, concepts and thought-provoking real-life scenarios are put forward to students by 1-3 specially trained facilitators in a multimedia classroom. The active use of Audio/Visual aids and the PhyzokTM lab helps students derive scientific conclusions on their own, and makes them more comfortable with varied concepts discussed throughout the PhyzokTM week, reinforcing the foundation of ATP.

    For example,

In a typical 9th standard Physics PhyzokTM Hour, the co-ordinator poses a real-life simulated scenario to the students. Technology is used to make the imagination of the scenario perceptible. Then, using PhyzokTM Lab, the required scientific concepts are demonstrated and the student is channeled to apply the concepts in the simulated environment to reach the conclusion all by him/herself.

In the previous PhyzokTM hours, even students of 7th and 8th class without basic knowledge of Charles and Boyle's laws have deduced the relations between pressure, volume and temperature using basic scientific reasoning following our approach.

Practising this approach using our systematic curriculum nurtures analytical thought process in young brains which they use in their regular classroom to perform multiple folds better discarding rote-learning even in subjects like History and English.

  • How to attend PhyzokTM

PhyzokTM is a 7-hour workshop, normally spread across a week. Generally workshops are held every day for each class, but the schedule can be altered as per the comfort of the host school.
It is conducted in a multimedia hall equipped with an LCD projector and sounds system, provided by the host school.

Right now we are rolling out the programme only for grades 7 to 10.
